Dogs at funerals

Bring the dog

Your dog is an integral part of your family dynamic and can be a welcome distraction at an emotional time.

With permission, our families have brought their dogs to be present at hospital, hospice, a viewing, funeral ceremony, committal service, cremation and burial.

For the funeral service we suggest families have a dedicated minder should the dog become restless – but in our experience, the dogs have behaved impeccably.

If the dog is to attend the burial – the cemetery require they must be on a lead.

(A possible first – we have had a harnessed cat attend a Natural Burial!)
